Oral Sedation
Take-home anxiolytic medication for deeper relaxation.
For patients with significant dental anxiety — or for longer, more involved procedures — oral sedation goes a step beyond nitrous. You take a prescribed sedative before your appointment and arrive deeply relaxed.
How it works
We prescribe a sedative (typically in the benzodiazepine family) and you take it shortly before your visit. By the time you arrive, you’re relaxed, calm, and many patients have little memory of the procedure afterward — which is often a relief for very anxious patients.
Important to know
You’ll need a friend or family member to drive you to and from the visit. We monitor you carefully throughout. Plan to take it easy the rest of the day — no driving, no important decisions.
