In-house implant care
Dental Implants
In-house placement and restoration — no referrals, no out-of-town trips.
Dental implants are the closest thing modern dentistry has to a natural replacement tooth. Unlike a bridge, they don’t depend on neighboring teeth. Unlike a denture, they don’t move. And at Rocky Mount Family Dentistry, we handle both the surgical placement and the final restoration in-house.
What an implant actually is
A small titanium post that’s placed where the missing tooth’s root used to be. Over a few months, the surrounding bone bonds to the titanium (a process called osseointegration). Once it’s solidly anchored, we place a custom crown on top — and the new tooth functions just like a natural one.
Single tooth, multiple teeth, or full arch
We restore single missing teeth with single implants. Several missing teeth in a row can be replaced with implant-supported bridges. And for patients missing most or all of their teeth, implant-retained dentures or all-on-4 reconstructions can replace a full arch with just a handful of implants.
Why in-house matters
Most general dentists place the crown but refer the surgery to an oral surgeon or periodontist — meaning two offices, two appointments, two waiting rooms, and two bills. We do the whole thing here. One team, one plan, predictable cost.
Common Questions
Frequently asked
- Am I a candidate for implants?
- Most adults with missing teeth are. Bone density, gum health, smoking status, and certain medical conditions affect candidacy — we’ll review with a CBCT scan and exam.
- How long does the whole process take?
- Typically 3–6 months from placement to final crown, depending on healing and whether bone grafting is needed. You’ll have a temporary in the meantime if it’s a visible tooth.
- How much do they cost?
- Pricing depends on the case. We’ll give you an exact quote — including the surgical and restorative phases — before any work begins. CareCredit and Virginia Dental Club discounts both apply.
